Job Description:

As a Cleaner at Wesley, your main job is to keep our spaces really clean and neat. You’ll follow important rules for health and safety while doing this. You’ll report to the Operations Manager, and your tasks will include things like dusting, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning windows, taking out the trash, and some bigger tasks like changing linens, making sure the bathrooms are clean, and cleaning walls when needed.

Job Requirements:

To do well in this job, you should have:

• The job is for candidates who have 2 years’ experience in cleaning
• Training in first aid, C.P.R., and how to handle situations without using violence.
• A strong commitment to doing things ethically in social services, like keeping things private, avoiding conflicts of interest, and getting consent.
• The ability to work in a way that includes everyone, no matter their background or identity.
• Being physically able to follow safety rules, like lifting things up to 50 lbs.
• Understanding and believing in what Wesley is trying to do, and how we want to do it.
• Showing that you’re honest and can adjust to different needs in the job.
• Knowing the basics of using computers and programs like Microsoft software.

Here are the things you’ll do in this job:

• Follow checklists to clean every day, every week, and every month.
• Always use the safety gear we give you and follow health and safety rules.
• Keep everything clean and safe like we’re supposed to.
• Know how to use different cleaning machines really well.
• Keep track of what cleaning supplies we have.
• Help out in emergencies.
• Work well with our volunteers and other staff.
