Requirements:

  • Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in a hotel or related field (advantageous).
  • Prior cash-handling experience is essential.
  • Comfortable with computer use.

Physical Requirements:

  • Flexibility and occasional long hours may be necessary.
  • Able to perform sedentary work.
  • Capable of exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently for lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving objects.

Education:

To succeed as a General Cashier, having a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is helpful. But, having hands-on experience in a similar field is equally crucial. Experience in handling cash and being skilled with computers are valuable assets.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deposit Processing: Retrieve and process all deposits following Wyndham’s Hotel Group standards.
  • Change Management: Maintain an adequate supply of change and distribute it to hotel departments as per the schedule.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare Cash Short/Over Reports daily, monthly, and yearly, reporting material variances to management.
  • Cashier Bank Management: Issue or redeem cashier banks for various departments with the Controller’s approval.
  • Bank Auditing: Conduct cashier bank audits as required by Wyndham’s standards and maintain related documentation.
  • Petty Cash Handling: Process petty cash receipts and reimbursements, promptly reporting any policy deviations.
  • Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain a comprehensive record of all bank transfers.
  • Cashier Equipment: Ensure all cashier equipment (cash drawers, credit card machines) is in good working order.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an adequate inventory of cashier supplies (deposit envelopes, credit card vouchers).
  • Security Measures: Ensure the safety and security of the safe, its combination, and all cashier vaults, promptly reporting any security breaches.
  • Communication: Keep management informed of unusual operational or financial events and any policy/procedure deviations.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Prioritize overall guest satisfaction, contributing to the hotel’s positive reputation.
