Despite a spirited performance, the Kenyan chess team exited the tournament at the group stage. Founded by Equity Bank Kenya the Equity Chess Club has converted a sign of increasing talent in East African chess. Boasting a schedule of elite players counting National champions and FIDE-ranked players the club made history by qualifying for the 2025 World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship held in Astana Kazakhstan.
