Which Devices Will Lose WhatsApp Support in 2025?
Android Devices
Whatsapp will no longer support Android devices running KitKat or older versions, it will take effect from January 1, 2025. Unsupported devices include:
- Samsung phones including Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Ace 3, and Galaxy S4 Mini would not be able to run WhatsApp.
- Motorola phones including Moto G (1st Gen), Razr HD, and Moto E 2014 would not be able to run WhatsApp smoothly.
- HTC mobile phones including One X, One X+, Desire 500, and Desire 601 would not be able to run WhatsApp after 1 January 2025.
- LG phones including Optimus G, Nexus 4, G2 Mini, and L90 will not run WhatsApp.
- Mostly Sony phones Xperia Z, Xperia SP, Xperia T, and Xperia V also would not be able to run WhatsApp after the new update.
iOS Devices
iPhone user should update their devices by May 5 2025. IPhones running iOS 15.1 or earlier would not support WhatsApp. IPhone models that would not support WhatsApp are as under:
- iPhone 5s
- iPhone 6
- iPhone 6 Plus
To continue using WhatsApp, affected iPhone users must either update their iOS or upgrade to a newer device.
