BattleFire Breaks Out in Industrial Area Warehouse
PESHAWAR – A massive fire that broke out in a warehouse located in the industrial zone of Peshawar was finally brought under control after a grueling 24-hour operation by the city’s fire and emergency response teams. The inferno which started in the early hours of Tuesday morning engulfed a large storage facility containing flammable materials and goods prompting a full-scale firefighting effort that stretched local resources to the limit
The incident took place in the Ring Road industrial area home to numerous factories and storage units. According to initial reports the fire erupted around 300 a.m. due to what officials suspect might have been an electrical short circuit or a chemical reaction within the stored materials. Eyewitnesses said thick plumes of black smoke rose high into the sky visible from miles away
Emergency Services Mobilized
Upon receiving the distress call the Peshawar Fire Brigade immediately dispatched multiple units to the scene . Chief Fire Officer of Peshawar Muhammad Imran said “This was one of the most challenging operations we have conducted in recent years. The warehouse was packed with highly combustible materials which allowed the fire to spread rapidly. It took us nearly 24 hours of nonstop effort to completely extinguish the flames”
Warehouse Structure Severely Damaged
The warehouse reportedly used to store plastic goods rubber materials and industrial chemicals was almost completely destroyed in the blaze. Steel beams were left twisted by the heat and the building’s roof collapsed in several areas. The intensity of the fire also posed a threat to neighboring facilities but quick action by emergency teams managed to prevent the flames from spreading further
Officials from the Rescue 1122 emergency service confirmed that no casualties were reported though several firefighters sustained minor injuries due to smoke inhalation and falling debris. They were promptly treated at nearby hospitals and later released
Evacuation and Safety Measures
In response to the fire surrounding warehouses and factories were evacuated as a precautionary measure. Local police cordoned off the area and assisted in crowd control as hundreds of workers and residents gathered nearby to witness the dramatic scenes

An official investigation into the cause of the fire has been launched by the Peshawar District Administration and the local police department. The financial losses incurred due to the fire are still being calculated but preliminary estimates suggest damages exceeding Rs 200 million. The destroyed inventory included high-value goods meant for export as well as machinery and equipment .
The warehouse belonged to a prominent local industrialist whose name has not been disclosed. Insurance representatives are expected to visit the site in the coming days to assess the losses

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur expressed his concern over the fire and commended the fire service for their heroic efforts. In a statement he said “Our firefighters showed exceptional bravery in controlling a potentially disastrous situation. We must now focus on ensuring that such incidents do not happen again due to negligence”
The Chief Minister also directed the concerned departments to submit a report within 72 hours and propose reforms to improve industrial safety protocols across the province
