Leïla Bekhti Reveals Emotional Journey to Motherhood

Leïla Bekhti was a guest on Sept à Huit this Sunday with Audrey Crespo-Mara. For the first time, she talked about her struggles with infertility before having her four children. “It’s a miracle,” Bekhti said in an emotional interview on TF1+. “I had a very hard time getting pregnant with my first child. Doctors told me it might not happen naturally.”

She remembered the painful moment when she got this news. “When the doctor said I would have trouble getting pregnant, I had already been trying for more than two years. My left ear felt blocked, like I didn’t want to hear it. I was in shock.” For a long time, she was afraid she would never become a mother. But something unexpected happened. “Two months later, I got pregnant naturally. Even today, my doctor can’t explain it. And in six years, I had four children—all naturally.” Her story shows that sometimes, miracles do happen.

Bekhti thanks her husband for always supporting her during her fertility struggles. She told him, “I don’t want to put you through this.” But he replied, “It’s not just your problem; it’s ours. I want children, but only with you.” This shows their strong and loving relationship.

Her patience and strength paid off. “In six years, I had four children. My oldest is seven, and my youngest is almost one. I always tell them, ‘I waited for you, and I was so excited for you to come.'” Many people find it interesting how quickly she had her children.

Balancing acting and being a mother is not easy. “My life is very busy. During a photo shoot, I might say, ‘Put away the green beans. They already ate them for lunch.’ I know everything about my children—what they eat, what they do, and their daily routine.” Many working mothers face this challenge.

Even with her busy job, Bekhti always puts her children first. “If I am away for weeks, I need to know they are okay. But they do not come to my work. When we go on holiday without their dad, we all sleep in the same room.” This shows their strong family bond.

Bekhti feels free and happy with her children. “At home, we have one rule: every day, we say ‘I love you’ and share laughter.” This shows their strong family love.
