A Fast-Moving Fire Breaks Out
On Saturday, July 3, a big wildfire started near Narbonne in the Aude region. The fire quickly burned around 300 hectares of pine trees and dry bushes. Thanks to a quick and strong response from firefighters, this weathers is also danger for health. the fire was brought under control by Sunday. Even after that, teams stayed in the area to keep an eye out for any flare-ups.

Huge Team Effort to Stop the Flames
About 200 firefighters worked hard to put out the fire. They got help from the air too, using six Canadair water planes, three Dash aircraft, and two helicopters to drop water on the flames. On the ground, more than 400 people helped control the fire when it was at its worst.

People Evacuated for Safety
To keep everyone safe, emergency crews evacuated around 140 campers and 30 local residents. Luckily, no one was hurt. By Sunday, the fire had calmed down enough for everyone to return to their homes and campsites.
One Suspect Arrested
Police have arrested one person who is believed to have started the fire on purpose. Investigators are now working to find out if this was a case of arson.
