A fan from Texas, Kaitlyn Cooper, says she had a strange meeting with the actress at Hotel 1928 in Waco, Texas. Cooper says Lively followed her to her car and filmed her license plate. A Fan’s Surprise Turns into a Strange Situation
On March 8, 2025, Kaitlyn Cooper, 27, from Houston, stayed at Hotel 1928. Hotel staff told her that a “VIP guest” was there. That guest was Blake Lively, who had been in Austin the day before for the SXSW premiere of her new movie Another Simple Favor.

Cooper and her mom stayed in the hotel lobby after dinner, hoping to see Lively. When Lively appeared, Cooper recorded a short video of her. “I just wanted to show my friends,” Cooper said. She thinks Lively noticed her filming because the actress covered part of her face with her hand.

A Strange Meeting in the Parking Lot
The next morning, things got weird. When Cooper and her mom were packing their car to leave, Lively suddenly walked up to them.
“I heard someone say, ‘Hi,’ and I looked up. It was Blake,” Cooper said. “She was holding her phone up like she was filming me.”
Cooper said hello, but Lively did not talk. Instead, she walked around the car and seemed to film the license plate. Then, she gave her phone to a security guard, who also walked around the car. After that, both Lively and the guard went back inside the hotel.
“We were so confused. We didn’t know what was happening,” Cooper said. She said the experience made her feel nervous.

Cooper shared the story on Instagram while driving home to Houston. Soon after, she saw that a hotel staff member and an account linked to Lively’s team had viewed her story.
“I think they wanted to see if I posted the video of her,” Cooper said.
After that, Cooper got rude messages from anonymous accounts. Some people online sent mean comments. “What started as a strange moment became something scary,” she said.
