Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma.
- Experience in caretaking.
Certifications:
- Fireman’s Certificate (needed for City Hall and Engineering and Works Facilities).
- Certification for using a one-man lift (needed for Recreation Facilities).
Skills and Knowledge:
- Good understanding of cleaning and building upkeep.
- Know how to safely handle and store cleaning chemicals.
- Familiar with the Saskatchewan Boiler Act and Regulations.
- Able to check mechanical systems and boilers.
- Skilled in using maintenance and cleaning tools.
- Good communication with colleagues, City staff, and the public.
- Able to lift, bend, and climb.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Willingness to work different shifts.
- Physically able to do the job.
- May need to pass a criminal record check.
Responsibilities
- Clean and take care of different buildings.
- Check and report any problems with boilers, furnaces, and other machines.
- Do small repairs and maintenance.
- Use and store cleaning chemicals safely.
- Help with moving furniture and setting up rooms.
- Keep track of cleaning and maintenance work.
- Take care of the grounds, including removing snow and picking up litter.
- Make sure buildings are secure and equipment is properly stored.
- Follow health and safety rules.
Salary And Benefits
