Arrest and Aftermath
Upon arrival at London Heathrow at around 1100 AM on Sunday police officers boarded the aircraft and arrested the flight attendant. He was transported from the plane in a wheelchair and provided with medical attention onsite.
British Airways has since suspended the crew member and confirmed that the matter is now in the hands of law enforcement. A company spokesperson commented This is a police matter and declined to provide further details.
Crew Reactions
The flight crew expressed outrage over the incident stating they had to work the long haul flight without adequate rest due to the missing colleague. One crew member reportedly said Rather than asking passengers chicken or beef he was stripping off and dancing in the toilet
Such incidents not only compromise onboard safety but place extra pressure on already strained flight teams during international operations.
Airline Response
British Airways has launched an internal investigation while cooperating fully with law enforcement. The airline reiterated its commitment to high standards of safety and conduct among its cabin crew.

Broader Context
This latest episode is part of a troubling trend within British Airways. In March 2025 a BA crew member was arrested in Singapore following sexual assault allegations. In 2023 a pilot was dismissed after admitting to cocaine use before a flight.
These incidents have prompted scrutiny of British Airways’ crew management practices especially in relation to layovers and long haul duty fatigue.
Industry Implications
As international airlines continue to rebound from pandemic era disruptions they are increasingly confronted by issues related to crew welfare substance abuse and onboard conduct. The British Airways incident underscores the ongoing challenges faced by the aviation industry in maintaining professionalism and passenger safety at high altitudes.
