28 Years Later: The Bone Temple Director on That Major Returning Character: I Was So Happy to Have this guy Back .

This stage has ended at last. 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is officially haunting theaters, and as the film that is the wildest and weirdest in the series is laden with nightmares, there is one scene that cannot be discussed without the fans adopting a fanatic stance: the appearance of the first survivor once more.

Cillian Murphy returns to the world of the Rage Virus as Jim, two decades after being speculated to do so. Director Nia DaCosta has provided the franchise with the final full circle in case it was a huge bridge to the 28 Years Later trilogy conclusion.

The Handover Moment: The Return of Jim.

You have already watched the movie, and you are aware that DaCosta does not want to lose the biggest secret on the last frames. After the explosive climax at the ossuary of Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes), the story changes its theme of the brutal violence of the north into a small inhabited cottage in Cumbira.

The “Coda” Explained.

Similar to the unhinged coda of last year, 28 Years Later, that revealed the cult of terror that is The Jimmies, the denouement of The Bone Temple centers on a home to the near alienation of this post-apocalyptic world. We are introduced to a middle-aged, exhausted Jim who is a home school teacher to his young daughter, Sam.

Jim does not hesitate when Spike (Alfie Williams) and Kelly (Erin Kellyman) enter the gates being chased by a horde. It is not a changed appearance; it is a statement that the survivor who is also a delivery-man is coming back into the fray to bring about redemption.

Nia DaCosta in the Directing a Horror Icon.

To director Nia DaCosta, the decision to resurrect Murphy was not some plot-driven thing, it was personal. Talking directly about the open secret casting, DaCosta showed that the first 28 Days Later was a breakthrough in her career. Yes, I get to do this, an excited DaCosta told me.

It is truly crazy to me that as an 11-year-old viewer and fan of that film and Cillian, I was able to cast one of those actors in the situation that I had fallen in love with them and cast them is incredible.

Farewell Sequel Horror at its Best.

The vision that DaCosta had of The Bone Temple has been called of a nature of Metal AF, with the Arthurian architecture of the screenplay by Alex Garland and the Gorpcore-inspired survivalism. Placing Jim at the tail end of this tonal tightrope walk, she essentially connects this rudimentary 2002 origin to the high-concept 2026 sequel.

What This Means to the “28 Years Later 3”.

As the third movie is already established and Danny Boyle in the directorial seat once again, the survival story of Spike had never been more stakes than ever.

• The Redemption Arc: Although the nature of evil was examined in the The Bone Temple by Sir Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell), the last chapter is said to be all about redemption.

 • A New Alliance: The new generation (Spike and Kelly) seems to form a powerhouse team-up with the legendary Jim according to the finale.

 • The Selena Mystery: Although Naomie Harris has not come into the scene, the unveiling of the daughter of Jim, Sam, leaves the door very open to the family reunion in the finale of the trilogy.
