In a horrifying incident that has left the community reeling a 29-year-old mother has been arrested for allegedly strangling her 5-year-old son to death inside their family apartment in Springfield on Tuesday evening
According to Springfield Police Department spokesperson Officer Mariah Jenkins authorities responded to a distress call from neighbors at around 745 pm on July 2 reporting loud screams and disturbing noises coming from the apartment located at 4500 East Willow Street .
