The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee is scheduled to meet tomorrow (May 28, 2025) to sight the moon of Zilhaj, the final month of the Islamic calendar, which determines the dates for Eid ul-Adha.
Meeting Location and Leadership
The Moon Sighting Meeting Will be Held in Islamabad, with Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, the Chairman of the Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, presiding Over the session. Significance of Zilhaj Moon Sighting
The sighting of the Zilhaj crescent marks the beginning of the holy Month, ”during which Eid ul-Adha _the Festival of Sacrifice_is observed. The
confirmation of the moon’s appearance will determine the Exact Date of Eid, Expected To Fall
Around June 17 or 18, depending on the lunar Observation.’

Coordination with PMD and SUPARCO

by Representatives from: - Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD)
- Ministry of Religious Affairs
- SUPARCO (“Space & Upper” Atmosphere Research Commission)
- These organizations provide technical assistance and astronomical data to ensure a precise and unified decision regarding the moon sighting.

Following the ”meeting, an official ”Announcement will be made and ”broadcast live on National media, Updating The public on whether the Zilhaj moon has been sighted or not. If Sighted, Eid ul-Adha Will be Celebrated After 10 days, Following The Islamic tradition.
